History

Corporate Guardians, Inc. was incorporated in 2006 and approved by the State of Wisconsin to provide guardianship services. Since that time, we have grown to serve over 50 counties throughout the State of Wisconsin, and are currently approved to serve 800 individuals under guardianship. We employ over 25 full-time staff and offer services including, but not limited to: guardian of estate, guardian of person, conservatorship, trustee/agent relationships, guardianship consulting, estate functions, power of attorney, and case management. Our employees receive extensive guardianship training, have bachelor's degrees in related fields, and are Nationally Certified Guardians through the Center for Guardianship Certification. We provide an on-call service, allowing the teams we work with 24/7 access to our guardian reps for medical emergencies. Our agency utilizes a secure web-based software system for the management of our client files. This enables us to have efficient and comprehensive access to those files, and information wherever the internet is accessible. We currently have five office locations in Wisconsin: our corporate office in Two Rivers, WI, and satellite offices in Beaver Dam, Kenosha, Wausau, and La Crosse.

Our Staff are active on numerous local and State committees including WINGS (Working Interdisciplinary Network of Guardianship Stakeholders), I-Teams, Kiwanis, Mental Health Coalition, Memory Cafes, Chamber of Commerce, and Sunrise Optimists. We also have plans to work closely with WINGS to improve current State standards for the approval of new corporate guardians, tracking and oversight of current guardians, and possible revisions to the Administrative Code. In addition, we took an active role in making guardianship training available via webcasts for any guardianship stakeholder interested in benefiting from such training. Our President, Kay Schroeder, was honored to serve as the Wisconsin Guardianship Association President from 2012 to 2016, and was instrumental in the creation of the WGA Standards of Practice. Additionally, our agency, along with many other guardian stakeholders throughout the State, worked diligently on the Corporate Guardian Fee Standard Initiative, which was introduced through WINGS several years ago.

In serving vulnerable individuals, it is our passion and mission to ensure that all individuals in need of guardianship services, trustees, estate representatives, and powers of attorney have access to the highest quality services from our agency and beyond. We continue to strive for excellence in our field and collaborate with various guardianship stakeholders to pursue positive change throughout our State.
